She was perfect. How he wished he could get closer to her and strike up a conversation.
"Oh, hi there!"
"hi"
"What a wonderful day, isn't it!?"
"Hmm. Yeah. I guess. I am sorry, but do I know you?"
"Feels like that doesn't it? Same here! Ha! Ha! Just kidding! No…sorry…I don't really know you. But I'd love you! Ooops…I mean I'd love to!"
Well, maybe it would go better than that. Who knows?
She looked just right to him. Not too hoity-toity. Not too down to earth. Almost the same height. Similar style of clothing. Even their view of the world was virtually the same - they were so alike. They both seemed to look at the world without any judgment. Both provided comfort and warmth to those around them. Both had a heart made of chocolate. Mocha hearts!
But alas, it would be all for nothing if they couldn't talk! Argh! If only he could move just an inch closer to her. He could smell her from where he was sitting, which was driving him crazy. That smell! Oh, that smell! That was the smell of his soulmate. It had to be - it reminded him of something. What was it? Ah yes! Hazelnuts of all the things in the world!
He imagined what a perfect life it would be if they were together. Arms locked around each other - holding, encompassing, loving, filling each other's cup of joy, and finding happiness in just the fact that they were together. Even if they were empty and hollow, they would still have each other. They could be each other's cup of tea!
And just when he was about to give up, his prayers got heard! Maybe it was because it was rush hour, and nobody had the time to clean up after themselves. Whatever the reason, to him, it was nothing but divine intervention. Out of the blue, the hand of what-seemed-like-God swooped down and picked him up in the air. At first, he was filled with horror as he saw the love of his life, whom he had just discovered, starting to disappear. How could life be so cruel? How could he lose his soulmate so quickly after having found her? It was not fair! He cursed the stars and closed his eyes to let the pain sweep over him as he felt his body starting to get crushed in the hand of that cruel God.
But wait! What was happening? It couldn't be! He found himself now being propelled straight towards her, and suddenly his horror turned into euphoria as he got tossed into her arms. Her warm, loving arms! And she embraced him with all the mocha in her heart. Oh! He could have just died of happiness at that moment!
They were both carried away and thrown into the trash of the coffee shop. Stacked and locked together. Forever.
And they lived happily ever after - in a landfill.
